Paws for Love is presented by the Paws for Love Foundation. Proceeds from this gala event greatly benefit the animals of Sonoma County, the North Bay, and beyond. The Paws for Love Foundation provides resources and funding to shelters, rescue groups, and individuals dedicated to improving the health, welfare, and adoptability of unwanted and abused animals. Funds raised by this event are also used to rehabilitate adoptable animals by providing necessary medical treatment, food and training for animals in foster care programs.

One of Wine Country’s favorite Valentine fundraising events, Paws for Love offers an evening of fun, food, fine wine, and Valentine memories to cherish, with all proceeds benefitting homeless and abused animals. In addition to the sale of artwork painted by talented shelter animals, this event also features silent and live auctions offering award-winning wines, original art by two-legged artists, and many other exciting donations by area businesses and celebrities. A gourmet gallery showcase of Sonoma County wine and cuisine is also included in the price of admission to our 2014 event. We invite you to be our special Valentine in 2014 - and help many needy animals at the same time.

Our 2013 Gala was a rousing success. Fine art by rescue animals, auction excitement, Sonoma County wines by Mutt Lynch and Kenwood, amazing hors d’oeuvres by Ulrike Steinke, Tarot by Louise, music by DJ Aaron Long and pianist Jerry Green, and our team of talented volunteers…all welcomed our guests for the 14th annual Paws for Love Gala in February!

The 80 paintings by shelter and rescue pets sold out quickly, and some collectors went home with multiple purchases. Several canine artists were in attendance to greet our Paws for Love supporters and art lovers. Silver Paws for Love guests, hoping for new homes, strolled through the crowd, donning their shiny silver bandanas!

Auction tables brimmed with sure-to-please donations of all kinds! High bidders in our Live Auction went home with trips to Vermont and Jackson Hole, to Mendocino and Mayacamas, as well as a Wine & Food Pairing for six, an outstanding "Mad Dog" collection of magnums, a superb golf package, and a very special GIANT’s Baseball package.

The drawing for our Silver Paws for Love fundraising raffle took place during the evening, with the Grand Prize -- a 7-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera -- won by Kay Strasser. Second prize, a Wine Country hot air balloon ride, was won by Alyce Ferguson. And third prize, a Valentine Gift Basket, went to Doris Collins.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the many donors and volunteers who make this unique evening in Wine Country possible! And to the many furry shelter artists who contributed their paintings to the show. The 14th annual Paws for Love event was a tremendous success, surpassing our fundraising goal of last year. We have already made life-saving funding awards which have provided surgeries and assistance for animals in need!

If we missed you at the Paws for Love gala this year, plans are already underway for the 2014 event -- our 15th Anniversary!...and we will have some special surprises in store for you! Put a paw print on your calendar: February 8, 2014.

Benefiting our “Silver Paws for Love” senior-to-senior pet adoption program, the raffle drawing will take place at the 15th Annual “Paws for Love” gala on February 8th, 2014. Join us in supporting our new Senior Adoption program, “Silver Paws for Love”, a partnership with both Sonoma County Animal Care & Control and Petaluma Animal Services Foundation to promote the adoptions of senior pets to seniors by offering financial assistance.
